21st Century Study Skills Workshops are designed to improve the teaching effectiveness of your staff and increase student success rates in your district. These workshops are based on SQ3R which was researched and developed by the government in 1942 and has been time-tested and proven for more than 70 years to be the most effective way to study and learn from textbooks. SQ3R is referred to as the "Father of all How-to-Study Programs". During the past ten years as a Biology and Biotechnology Instructor in Massachusetts high schools, Iâ€™ve added computer note-taking skills and left-brain right-brain memory techniques to bring it up into the 21st century. I call my new version SQ4R. Equipped with SQ4R, your students will be empowered with the knowledge, confidence and skills they need to master any course that uses textbooks. These skills are NOT taught in most high schools.

The importance of 21st Century Study Skills cannot be over emphasized. Every student can benefit from better study skills. Research shows the more intelligent students are the more academic progress they will make when trained how to study. SQ4R transforms â€œat-risk studentsâ€ into successful students in one day of strategic training. Successful study skills are a driving force leading to higher test scores, better grades and GPA, higher education and rewarding careers. Other valuable attributes achieved by trained students include; academic scholarships and recognition, personal satisfaction, more confidence and less stress, plus academic leadership and motivation to pursue their dreams.
